Tourism Department, in collaboration with various line departments and key tourism stakeholders of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is set to host the “Monsoon Tourism Festival–2024” with the vibrant tagline #rhythmoftherains. The festival aims to promote the Andaman Islands as a year-round tourist destination and will feature a series of exciting events and activities.
The festival will kick off with a Road Show on July 12, 2024, followed by celebrations on July 13 and 14 at Corbyn’s Cove from 3 pm to 9 pm. The annual mid-July event seeks to shift the perception that beaches are only for water sports and swimming, showcasing a variety of activities that can be enjoyed throughout the year.
Highlights of the festival include a novel water sports demonstration, a thrilling tug-of-war competition, and captivating cultural events featuring live music and dance performances. These programs are designed to provide a comprehensive beach experience beyond the typical water activities.
Food enthusiasts can look forward to numerous live food stalls, adding a culinary delight to the festivities. Other attractions include a Rain Dance Arena and a Beach Volleyball Arena, ensuring entertainment for all visitors.
Stalls will be available for a fee of Rs. 2500 per day plus GST. Interested parties are encouraged to collect application forms from the Planning Cell of the Directorate of Tourism and submit them with a security deposit of Rs. 5000 by July 9, 2024. Stall allocation will be determined by a lottery system and other specified criteria.
