A two-day Beach Sports Festival was successfully organized at Raman Bagicha Beach, Nimbutala, under the Calendar of Events 2025–2026 of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, with enthusiastic participation from the local community. The festival was organized by the Tourism Department in coordination with the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Middle Andaman, Gram Panchayat Nimbutala, and other line Departments.
The festival featured a range of beach sports and recreational activities aimed at encouraging sportsmanship and community engagement. Competitive events such as Beach Volleyball, Beach Kabaddi, and Tug of War were conducted for both men and women, drawing active participation from players and spectators alike. Special entertainment activities, including Musical Chair and Passing the Ball, were organized exclusively for women participants, adding to the festive spirit of the event.
The lively participation and cheerful atmosphere throughout the two days reflected strong community involvement and enthusiasm for beach sports and recreational activities.
The Beach Sports Festival concluded on January 11, 2026, with a closing ceremony held at Raman Bagicha Beach. The ceremony was graced by Mr. Vikash Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Middle Andaman, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the local community and the coordinated efforts of all departments involved in organizing the event. The Chief Guest also distributed prizes to the winners and participants.
The successful conduct of the festival underscored the Administration’s commitment to promoting tourism, encouraging sports activities, and fostering community participation at the grassroots level in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
