The Tourism Department of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration will conduct a Skill Development Training Programme for Astro Guides at Mayabunder from March 5 to 7, 2026, and at Little Andaman from March 10 to 12, 2026.
The programme aims to build local capacity in astro-tourism by equipping participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in night sky observation, basic astronomy, telescope handling, interpretation techniques and responsible astro-tourism practices. The initiative forms part of the Department’s efforts to diversify tourism offerings and promote sustainable, experience-based tourism across the Islands.
Local youth, tourism stakeholders and nature enthusiasts have been encouraged to participate and take advantage of the opportunity to enhance their skills and explore emerging livelihood avenues in astro-tourism.
As per eligibility criteria, applicants must be below 40 years of age and should have passed Class XII from a recognized Board or University.
Interested candidates may download the application form from the official website tourism.andamannicobar.gov.in and submit the filled-in forms to the Planning Section, Directorate of Tourism, on or before February 25, 2026, by 3 pm.
