The Department of Tourism, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, is all set to organize a ‘Beach Yoga Festival’ on 21st June 2025 to mark International Yoga Day. With the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” the event aims to promote wellness, harmony, and sustainable living. The festival will take place simultaneously at major beaches across the Islands in collaboration with the respective Deputy Commissioners of South Andaman, North & Middle Andaman, and Nicobar Districts, along with support from all line departments.
Mass yoga sessions will be held following the Common Yoga Protocol, and will be conducted at prominent beaches including Radhanagar Beach (Havelock), Bharatpur Beach (Neil Island), Corbyn’s Cove Beach (Port Blair), Kalipur Beach (Diglipur), Karmatang Beach (Mayabunder), Raman Bagicha (Rangat), Butler Bay Beach (Little Andaman), Wandoor Beach (South Andaman), Kinyuka Beach (Car Nicobar), Balubasti Beach (Kamorta), and Laxman Beach (Campbell Bay). These sessions aim to bring people together in the serene backdrop of the Islands’ coastlines to experience the mental, physical, and spiritual benefits of yoga.
In addition to the yoga sessions, expert talks on the theme “Interlinking Climate, Health, and Wellness” will be delivered across these locations, underlining the role of yoga in building a healthier and more sustainable world. At Corbyn’s Cove Beach, the event will also feature yoga competitions comprising Asanas, Pranayama, and Kriya. These competitions are open to various age groups and aim to encourage widespread community participation. Winners will be felicitated by the Department of Tourism.
The yoga sessions at all locations will begin at 7:00 AM. Participants who regularly practice yoga are encouraged to bring their own mats and accessories to support the eco-friendly nature of the event. The Department has extended an open invitation to tourists, youth, and the general public to actively join the celebrations and reach their respective venues on time, contributing to the smooth execution and grand success of the programme.
