The Department of Tourism, A&N Administration, in collaboration with the Department of Environment & Forests, will organise a Mangrove Creek Tourism programme at Wright Myo on February 21, 2026, from 10 AM to 12 PM. The initiative will be held under the tagline #Rootsoflife.

The programme aims to provide participants with a guided experience through the mangrove ecosystem, offering insights into the ecological importance, biodiversity and conservation value of mangroves. Through the activity, organisers seek to raise awareness about the critical role mangroves play in coastal protection, climate resilience and habitat preservation.

In addition to environmental awareness, the event will promote sustainable eco-tourism practices and encourage local participation, particularly from nearby areas. The initiative is also expected to support self-employment opportunities through eco-guiding and nature-based tourism, thereby strengthening community involvement in conservation efforts.

The event is open to all interested individuals. Participants may reach the venue directly by 10 AM. For the convenience of registered participants, bus services will be arranged by the Department for the first 30 individuals who register. The bus will depart from the Main Bus Depot, Mohanpura, at 8 AM.

Those interested in participating may contact the Directorate of Tourism, A&N Islands, at 9434282324 or 9474258844 for registration and further details.
