The Department of Tourism, in collaboration with Andaman Stargazing, is set to host a special event highlighting the untapped potential of astro-tourism in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Scheduled for 12th May, the event will begin with a special lecture on “The Potential of Astro-Tourism in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands”, followed by a free guided stargazing session under the full moon sky at Corbyn’s Cove Beach, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
Aimed at promoting nighttime tourism experiences, the event seeks to showcase how the pristine night skies of the Islands can offer a unique celestial attraction for visitors. Attendees will have the opportunity to observe the stars and moon through professional telescopes, accompanied by expert guidance.
The initiative invites tourists, students, astronomy enthusiasts, nature lovers, and the general public to engage with the wonders of the cosmos by the tranquil shoreline. Organizers encourage participants to “let the sky be your destination” and experience the magic of the stars like never before.
