Traffic Police Issues 420 Challans in Week-Long Road Safety Drive

In a concerted effort to enhance road safety and enforce traffic regulations, the Traffic Police conducted intensive checks across multiple locations from February 10 to February 16, 2025. During this period, a total of 420 challans were issued, with fines amounting to ₹2,75,500 for various violations.

Among the key infractions, 40 cases were registered for drunken driving, while strict legal action was initiated against:

  • 1 vehicle for dangerous driving
  • 1 vehicle for juvenile driving
  • 2 vehicles for using pressure horns
  • 8 riders for not wearing helmets
  • 22 vehicles for having tinted films on rear and side windows
  • 1 vehicle for operating without number plates

The Traffic Police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring safer roads and urged the public to adhere to traffic laws. Citizens are encouraged to report violations by sharing clear photographs or short videos capturing the vehicle’s registration number, along with the date, time, and location of the offence.
