Training for Enumerators and Supervisors Organised for Agriculture Census 2021-22

A training program for Enumerators and Supervisors for Phase-II and Phase-III of the Agriculture Census 2021-22 was recently organized by the Directorate of Economics & Statistics in collaboration with the Agriculture Census Unit, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. The event took place in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Disaster Management, Sri Vijaya Puram.

In his address to the participants, Mr. Gaurang Mishra, Director of Economics and Statistics, emphasized the importance of the training, urging attendees to clarify any doubts regarding the field survey set to be conducted during the Census. He highlighted that the data collected through the Agriculture Census is crucial in shaping agricultural policies, stressing that Enumerators and Supervisors must ensure the collection and submission of accurate information.

Mr. D.S. Clement Stephen, Research Officer in charge, encouraged participants to make the most of the training opportunity to fulfill the objectives of the Census. He assured the attendees that the Directorate would provide all necessary support throughout the Census process.

The technical session was led by resource persons Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Senior Statistical Officer, and Mr. Pankaj Dutt, Data Entry Operator, both from the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. They delivered a comprehensive presentation on the mobile app and portal developed for data collection and uploading.

The training program saw participation from approximately 60 officials from the Revenue Department and Statistical Cadre, who are engaged as Enumerators and Supervisors for the Agriculture Census.
