Training of Trainers Programme on ‘Empowering Women Leaders in Local Governance’ Concludes

A four-day Training of Trainers (ToT) programme on ‘Championing Change: Empowering Women Leaders in Local Governance for District-Level Master Trainers’ under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) concluded recently at the State Panchayat Resource Centre (SPRC), Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs, Marine Hill. The programme was held under the guidance of Mr. Rajesh Chopra, IAS, Secretary (RD/P).

Addressing the valedictory session, Mr. Rajesh Chopra highlighted the crucial role of women’s leadership at the grassroots level and urged the Master Trainers to serve as catalysts for change by sharing their learning and promoting gender-responsive governance in their respective regions. He also presented certificates and training kits to the participants.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Apurva Sharma, Director (RD/PRIs), stressed the importance of empowering women representatives in Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) to foster inclusive and effective local governance. He commended the participants for their active involvement and dedication throughout the training.

Earlier, welcoming the dignitaries and participants, Mr. Bijoy Kumar Das, State Nodal Officer (RGSA), outlined the objectives of the programme and emphasized the significance of capacity-building initiatives under the RGSA scheme in strengthening the Panchayati Raj system.
