Training Program for Newly Appointed Statistical Cadre Personnel on Survey Sampling Methodology Held in Sri Vijaya Puram

The Directorate of Economics & Statistics, in collaboration with the National Sample Survey Office (Field Operations Division) under the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, conducted a training program for newly appointed Statistical Cadre Personnel focused on Survey Sampling Methodology.

The event, held on October 26, was led by the Director of Economics & Statistics, Mr. Gaurang Mishra, who encouraged participants to actively engage in the training and clarify any doubts regarding the application of survey sampling methodologies in various surveys. “Understanding these methodologies is critical for conducting effective sample surveys,” he emphasized.

The training featured a technical session conducted by Mr. Bappa Saha, an Assistant Director from the Regional Office of the FOD, NSO, MoSPI. Through a detailed presentation, Mr. Saha outlined the sampling methods and techniques employed in large-scale sample surveys.

Approximately 21 newly recruited statistical cadre personnel from various departments participated in the program, aimed at enhancing their skills and knowledge in preparation for upcoming surveys.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. D. S. Clement Stephen, Statistical Officer (HQ), who urged participants to fully utilise this training opportunity to support the objectives of the upcoming 8th Economic Census.
