Training Programme on ‘Addressing Child Needs through Bal Sabha and Strengthening Bal Sabha’ Held at Calicut Panchayat

A training programme under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) on the theme “Addressing Child Needs through Bal Sabha and Strengthening Bal Sabha” was conducted by the Community Development Block, Prothrapur, at the Community Hall of Gram Panchayat Calicut on February 27.

The programme aimed to enhance awareness about the importance of Bal Sabhas and to strengthen mechanisms for addressing the needs and concerns of children at the grassroots level.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yaghambaram, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Calicut, shared insights on the importance of empowering children through Bal Sabhas and encouraging their participation in community development processes.

In her address, Mrs. Gurjeet Kaur, Block Development Officer (BDO), Prothrapur, highlighted the significance of child participation in local governance and emphasized the role of Panchayati Raj Institutions in ensuring child-friendly villages.

During the session, Ms. C. Vijya, Domain Expert from the Directorate of Rural Development, PRIs and ULBs, conducted detailed discussions on the objectives, functioning and strengthening of Bal Sabhas.

The programme concluded with the distribution of DDU-GKY course completion certificates to candidates who successfully completed their skill training.
