Mrs. Ayesha Majid, Chairperson, Tribal Council, Nancowry and Mr. Aslam Majid, First Captain, Kamorta have expressed gratitude to the leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party for persistently taking up the demand for restarting free Air Travel for referred patients from Remote Islands to Port Blair.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, BJP, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, State Vice President, BJP, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Ex-MP, Andaman and Nicobar Islands had recently met the Chief Secretary, A & N Islands and informed him of the difficulties being faced by the referred patients due to stopping of free air travel from remote Islands to Port Blair. The Chief Secretary had immediately directed to restart free air travel for referred patients from Remote Islands (unconnected by road from Port Blair) to Port Blair.
Mrs. Ayesha Majid and Aslam Majid have also thanked the Chief Secretary for his prompt action on the issue.
