Mr. TSG Bhasker, Chairman of the Campaign Committee of the Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC), has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, highlighting several pressing issues affecting residents of Kadamtala and Uttara Panchayats.

In the memorandum, Mr. Bhasker drew attention to the prolonged power crisis in the Kadamtala region, attributing it to a non-functional DG set. He urged the Administration to ensure the provision of new and fully operational DG sets to both Kadamtala and Uttara Panchayats on a priority basis, to address the frequent power outages that have been affecting daily life.

Mr. Bhasker also raised concerns over extremely poor digital connectivity in the area, particularly the inadequate BSNL network coverage. He said the poor network is disrupting vital services, including Common Service Centres (CSCs) and the online ration distribution system, thereby impacting public access to government welfare schemes.

The deteriorating condition of NH-4 was also a key issue highlighted in the memorandum. Mr. Bhasker stated that the damaged road has resulted in increased accidents, transport delays, and safety hazards for commuters, seriously hampering regional connectivity.

Further, he noted that Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in Kadamtala and Uttara have not received sufficient funds for several months, stalling development activities and basic maintenance work at the village level.

Calling for urgent administrative intervention, Mr. Bhasker appealed to the Administration to extend timely support to the affected communities. “The Congress Party stands in solidarity with the people of Kadamtala and Uttara and will continue to advocate for equitable development and improved governance across the Union Territory,” he said.
