In a fervent appeal to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. TSG Bhasker, Chairman of the ANTCC Campaign Committee, has raised serious concerns regarding the debacle surrounding over 500 government job vacancies left vacant due to administrative issues and candidate ineligibility.
In a formal letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, Mr. Bhasker highlighted the plight of thousands of aspiring candidates who were left in limbo following the MTS Examination held in 2023. The examination, aimed at filling 2,520 Matric Level government posts, encountered significant hurdles, leading to a substantial number of vacancies remaining unfulfilled.
Mr. Bhasker emphasized that the Andaman and Nicobar Administration’s decision to withhold 248 posts due to candidates failing to meet eligibility criteria for certain positions, coupled with the withdrawal of approximately 300 posts for undisclosed administrative reasons, has sparked outrage among aspirants and their families.
Expressing deep concern over the distress caused to the youth of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Bhasker condemned the administration’s actions, labelling them as a betrayal of trust and false hope. He underscored the repercussions of such decisions, stressing that they compromise the future prospects of many deserving candidates.
In his plea to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Mr. Bhasker urged immediate action to rectify the situation by filling the unfilled and withdrawn posts. He warned that failure to address the issue promptly would compel the Congress Party to organise mass demonstrations across the entirety of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The letter serves as a poignant reminder of the pressing need for transparent and accountable governance, particularly in matters concerning the future of the region’s youth and the integrity of the recruitment process.
