The Department of Environment and Forests of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration will organise a two-day Mangrove Workshop on March 21 and 22, 2026, at Megapode Resort, Haddo.

The workshop aims to bring together experts, researchers, scientists, forest officials, teachers, students, and other stakeholders on a common platform to discuss and deliberate on recent trends in mangrove conservation and management, both across the country and in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The workshop will focus on five key themes, including the role of mangroves in coastal protection and climate change mitigation, mangrove biodiversity and associated marine life, the scope of eco-tourism in mangrove forests, restoration techniques and best practices, and community participation along with livelihood opportunities linked to mangroves.

The inaugural session is scheduled to begin at 9 am on March 21 at the conference hall of Megapode Resort, Haddo.
