The Directorate of Tribal Welfare, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, has deputed two young Nicobarese artisans to participate in the National Tribal Festival – ‘Aadi Mahotsav’ at New Delhi. The National Tribal Festival – ‘Aadi Mahotsav’ was inaugurated by Mr. Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on Thursday.
The festival is being held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands has been allotted a dedicated stall to showcase the traditional Nicobarese Tribal Arts.
The festival will continue till 27th of February.
The Prime Minister during the inauguration of the National Tribal Festival – ‘Aadi Mahotsav’ urged all residents the National Capital Region in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh come to the festival in large numbers and purchase as many different artefacts and tribal products as possible to encourage the tribal artisans and craftspeople.
Participation of two Nicobarese Youth in the National Tribal Festival – ‘Aadi Mahotsav’ will encourage and motivate others to come forward and showcase their skill and talent.
