Mansukh Laxmanbhai Mandaviya, Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways (Independent Charge) to visit Campbell Bay, Great Nicobar today. The Minister arrived this morning at Veer Savarkar International Airport and left for Campbell Bay by Helicopter.
Great Nicobar Island has been in news ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the launch of the CANI Submarine Optical Fibre Cable announced the Transhipment Port project.
The itinerary of Minister at Campbell Bay has not been made public but he is likely to visit the Campbell Bay Jetty, Break Water Jetty and also Indira Point by helicopter. It is not yet clear whether the Minister will visit the South Bay Area where the Transhipment port has been proposed to be constructed.
The Minister will reportedly return back to Port Blair from Campbell Bay today by evening and then he is scheduled to visit Swaraj Dweep tomorrow.
The Minister will return back to Delhi on 29th of March 2021.
