Bharatiya Janata Party has taken over the reign of Zilla Parishad, North and Middle Andaman, right under the nose of Congress. Once Congress majority Zilla Parishad, North and Middle Andaman fell like a house of cards just one year after the Local Body Elections.
The situation for Congress became so bad that they couldn’t even field their candidates for the post of Adhyaksh and Up-Adhyaksh, and BJP Candidates won unopposed.
Mr. Subrato Basu, ZP Member, Kadamtala, won the election for Adhyaksh of ZP North and Middle Andaman unopposed.
Ms. Jayanti Jyoti, ZP Member, Kalighat, won the election for Up-Adhyaksh of ZP North and Middle Andaman unopposed.
ZP North and Middle Andaman is a major win for BJP and an unimaginable loss for Congress.
Just a year before the Lok Sabha Elections, Congress has yet to be able to hold their elected representatives together, and BJP is emerging too strong for the divided Congress to handle.
If Congress doesn’t buckle up soon and get its house in order, it may become too easy for BJP to win the lone Lok Sabha seat from Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
