UT-Level DGsP/IGsP Conference Held in A&N Islands to Deliberate on Outcomes of 60th All India Meet

Union Territory-level DGsP/IGsP Conference was held on 8th December 2025, under the chairmanship of Admiral D. K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Vice-Chairman of the Islands Development Agency. The meeting focused on disseminating and discussing key outcomes of the 60th All India DGsP/IGsP Conference – 2025.

The conference was attended by Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary, A&N Islands; Mr. Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, Director General of Police; Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sinha, IFS, PCCF; Commissioner-cum-Secretaries; senior officers of the A&N Administration; and officers of the A&N Police.

The inaugural session, held at the Lok Niwas Conference Hall, featured an overview of the national conference and a presentation by the Police Department on the achievements of the A&N Police. The discussions focused on developing a framework to implement actionable points for both the A&N Police and the Administration, while strengthening inter-departmental coordination. The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor also commended Police Station Pahargaon for securing the 2nd position among more than 18,000 police stations across the country.

Technical sessions at the Police Headquarters included in-depth discussions on disaster management, coastal security, enhanced use of technology such as NATGRID and ICJS, and strategies to counter cyber fraud and narcotics-related challenges.

The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor stressed the need for robust coordination between civil administration and police forces to ensure the safety, security, and welfare of island residents. He urged officers to implement the actionable points emerging from the national conference with dedication and urgency.

The conference concluded with a reaffirmation of the A&N Police’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of policing and governance in line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision for the nation. (Story Based on PR)
