Van Mahotsav 2025: “Khairath – 1000 Gifts for the Future” Campaign Launched

Marking a significant stride toward environmental conservation, the “Khairath – 1000 Gifts for the Future” tree plantation campaign was officially launched on 1st July 2025, at IQRA Public School, Wimberlygunj, as part of Van Mahotsav 2025 celebrations.

The campaign, which aims to plant 1,000 trees across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, was inaugurated by Mr. Ashwin J Parihar, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, South Andaman, who served as the Chief Guest for the occasion.

Also gracing the event were Mr. Ravi Kant, IFS, Assistant Conservator of Forests, South Andaman; Dr. Manoharan, Deputy Education Officer, Wimberlygunj; and Jb. VM Zainuddin Haji, President, ASMJ.

Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries underscored the urgency of environmental stewardship and commended the initiative for instilling a sense of ecological responsibility among the youth. They encouraged the community to actively contribute to long-term green efforts across the islands.

Organisers highlighted that “Khairath” is envisioned as more than a symbolic gesture. The campaign will continue in the coming weeks with plantation drives at various locations, aiming to create a sustainable and green legacy for future generations.
