The Veterinary Dispensary, Elephant Point, organized a distribution drive of day-old Vanaraja chicks for residents of Ograbraj, Muslimbasti, and Mithakhari villages under Gram Panchayat Mithakhari. The event took place at the Panchayat Bhawan, Gram Panchayat Mithakhari.
The program was attended by Mrs. Lalita Tigga, Block Development Officer; Mr. Mohd Safiq, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Mithakhari; and Ms. Sanjhali Soren, Senior Veterinary Officer, Veterinary Dispensary, Elephant Point. As part of the initiative, a brief training session on poultry management was conducted to equip the farmers with basic know-how.
Approximately 45 farmers benefited from the distribution.
Mr. Mohd Safiq lauded the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS) for its commendable efforts in promoting rural livelihoods and poultry-based self-employment through such initiatives.
The initiative is aimed at empowering local communities by enabling sustainable income generation through backyard poultry farming.
