Dr. Ankit Toppo, son of Gabriel Toppo and resident of Prothrapur, Port Blair has secured a Gold Medal in the MBBS course at the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS), Port Blair.
Dr. Ankit Toppo, a member of the Chota Nagpuri Ranchi Community, secured the prestigious accolade with an impressive overall score of 74.70% in the 2016 batch of the undergraduate medical program at ANIIMS. Topping the list among 100 students from various parts of India, Dr. Toppo’s accomplishment is a testament to his dedication and academic prowess.
Hailing from the Kamraj English Medium School in Brookshabad, Port Blair, where he graduated with flying colors in 2016 with a remarkable 92%, Dr. Ankit Toppo has emerged as a role model for the young generation, especially those from downtrodden communities. He demonstrated that with knowledge, hard work, and dedication, one can rise to the pinnacle of society.
Expressing his gratitude and future aspirations, Dr. Ankit Toppo conveyed his desire to pursue a Master’s degree in the field of Gynaecology. The Gold Medal was conferred upon him during the 1st Graduation Ceremony for MBBS Batches of 2015, 2016 & 2017 at the DBRAIT Auditorium in Port Blair on November 7, 2023.
The ceremony, graced by the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Administration, witnessed the distribution of medals and certificates of excellence to the outstanding students. Admiral D. K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Rtd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency, emphasised the importance of selflessly dedicating oneself to the welfare of the people and society.
