Verification Camp Held at Chouldari to Ensure Inclusion of Genuine Beneficiaries under PM Surya Ghar Scheme

In a concerted effort to ensure accurate identification and inclusion of eligible households under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG-MBY), the District Administration, South Andaman, organized a special verification camp at Gram Panchayat, Chouldari on 16th October 2025.

The camp aimed to validate the credentials of beneficiaries enrolled under various flagship welfare schemes of the Government of India, including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Priority Household (PHH), and Ayushman Bharat Yojana. The initiative sought to ensure that only genuine and eligible households are considered for benefits under the solar energy scheme.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Priyanka Kumari, Additional District Magistrate (ADM), South Andaman, highlighted the objectives and benefits of the PM Surya Ghar scheme. She elaborated on the eligibility criteria and procedures for availing the benefits, emphasising the scheme’s potential to promote sustainable energy and reduce household electricity expenses.

During the camp, the credentials of 64 beneficiaries were verified by officials from the Departments of Rural Development, Civil Supplies, and Health Services. The process aimed to maintain transparency and ensure that the benefits reach deserving households.

The event witnessed participation from Zilla Parishad Members, the Pradhan of Chouldari Gram Panchayat, officials from various departments, Revenue officials, and a large number of villagers.

Reaffirming its commitment, the District Administration stated that similar verification drives will continue across rural and urban areas to ensure the inclusion of all eligible beneficiaries under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, thereby promoting energy self-reliance and reducing dependence on conventional electricity sources.
