In a significant step towards enhancing livestock health and milk production in North and Middle Andaman District, a Veterinary Infertility Camp was conducted at Deshbandhu Gram under Madhupur Gram Panchayat, Diglipur. The camp was organized by the Veterinary Hospital Diglipur under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS).

A total of 27 animals were examined during the camp, benefiting 15 farmers from the area. The veterinary team addressed several reproductive health issues among livestock, including three cases of repeat breeding, two cases of anoestrus, and one case each of metritis and cervicitis.

To promote animal nutrition and overall health, mineral mixture powder was distributed to all 15 beneficiaries, while deworming treatment was administered to 21 animals.

The camp was led by Dr. Bhojane Nagnath Martand, Senior Veterinary Officer, Veterinary Hospital Diglipur, and Dr. Kshitij Pareek, Senior Veterinary Officer, Veterinary Dispensary Billiground, supported by the staff of Veterinary Hospital Diglipur.

This initiative is part of the department’s ongoing commitment to improving livestock productivity and delivering essential veterinary care at the doorstep of rural farmers, thereby strengthening both animal welfare and rural livelihoods.
