In commemoration of its Foundation Day, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) orchestrated a series of vibrant programs and competitions spanning the picturesque Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A week of jubilant celebrations was observed, commencing with Rakshabandhan and culminating with Janmashtami.
To mark this significant occasion, a variety of competitions were held, including Quiz Competitions delving into Hindu Culture, Ramayan, Mahabharata, and the life of Lord Krishna, among others. The festivities also featured a Drawing Competition cantered around the theme ‘Lord Krishna’ and a Fancy Dress Competition highlighting the eternal love of ‘Lord Krishna and Radha.’
Across the islands, VHP organised these competitions and events at a staggering 50 locations and temples. Winners from each of these venues were duly recognised and presented with prizes, adding to the fervour of the celebrations.
As VHP prepares to mark its 60th anniversary in 2024, the organisation is set to embark on a journey of expansion in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Established in 1964 on the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, VHP was founded by Swami Chinmayanand, SS Apte, and Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar. The local team of VHP in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands has announced plans to intensify its activities throughout the islands to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the organisation’s establishment.
