A lot of foreign plastic waste is accumulating on the shores of Great Nicobar Island. Plastic bottles, footwear, fishing nets etc. can be seen lying on the seashore. Over time this waste gets buried after sand accumulates on it. The accumulation of foreign plastic waste is a serious issue and the Govt. of India needs to find a solution to the problem. The local community needs to be roped in the effort to clean up the foreign plastic waste.
