The Vidyanjali initiative, launched by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, aims to bridge the gap between communities and government schools by encouraging volunteer contributions in the form of services, materials, and infrastructure support.
This online portal enables individuals and organizations—including alumni, educators, scientists, government officials, retired armed forces personnel, professionals, homemakers, and Indian diaspora members—to register and contribute to government and government-aided schools across India.
Volunteers can extend their support in two broad categories:
1 Services and Activities – Sharing knowledge and skills in curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities such as teaching, sports, yoga, and health safety.
2 Assets and Materials – Contributing to infrastructure, digital tools, learning materials, sports equipment, furniture, maintenance, and repair work.
Those interested in participating can register on the Vidyanjali Portal (https://vidyanjali.education.gov.in) and contribute in their preferred way. For further assistance, volunteers may contact the Vidyanjali Coordinator at 9474219641.
This initiative serves as a platform for individuals and groups to actively support the education sector and enhance the learning environment for students across the country.
