Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member, Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded early resumption of all Water Sports Activities. Many Water Sports Activities in Andaman and Nicobar Islands are currently closed due to administrative issues.

Mr. Vishal Jolly in his letter addressed to the Chief Secretary mentioned that the permits for a vast majority of Water Sports Activities in Andaman and Nicobar Islands were valid only until 31st October 2022. He added that none of the permits were renewed on time.

Mr. Vishal Jolly further conveyed to the Chief Secretary that due to non-renewal of permits many water sports activities are closed leading to dismay among the tourists, which is bringing a bad reputation to the destination.

He also added that the water sports operators and their employees are also facing crises due to the closure.

Mr. Vishal Jolly also mentioned that the runway closure has already dented the industry and the stakeholders are facing losses. In such times, the failure to renew permission in a time-bound manner has come as a deep shock to the industry.

He requested the Chief Secretary to issue necessary directions for the immediate renewal of all water sports permits.
