In a significant move aimed at addressing local concerns and bolstering support for tribal communities, Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Former State President, BJP-ANI, convened a crucial meeting on January 5th, 2024. The gathering, held at Bengali village on Terresa Island, drew prominent attendees including tribal leaders and key BJP figures.
Among those present were Mr. Athonai Edward, Chairman of the Tribal Council of Teressa Island; Mr. E.S Rajesh, Nicobar District President of BJP; Captain Mr. Festus, Bengali Village Headman; Mr. O Zedrack Minyuk; Captain Mr. Cain Ahmed Enam; Mr. William Allurong; Mr. Wilson Zachariah, Mr. Nahore Luxi; Mr. Erick Jethro, and Mr. Luckson Chukmachi, all representing various village leadership roles.
The focal point of the meeting centered on elucidating several central government initiatives tailored to benefit the tribal populace. Mr. Jolly underscored the critical role of these schemes in the development and upliftment of tribal communities. Furthermore, he emphasised the importance of re-electing the Modi Government, citing its commitment to the comprehensive advancement of these communities.
The discussions encompassed a wide array of local issues that were brought to the fore for deliberation. Representatives from the tribal villages seized the opportunity to articulate their demands and concerns directly to Mr. Vishal Jolly. In response, the BJP leader assured them of the party’s dedicated efforts to expeditiously address these issues by liaising with the relevant authorities.
The meeting culminated with a pledge from Mr. Jolly and the BJP to actively engage in resolving the raised concerns and to work collaboratively toward the holistic progress of the tribal communities on Teressa Island.
