Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Former State President of BJP-ANI, has urgently called on the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar (A & N) Administration to provide immediate relief and compensation to the victims of the recent floods in Diglipur.
In his letter, Mr. Jolly detailed the extensive damage caused by the heavy floods in the Diglipur region, which have devastated agricultural fields, crops, cattle, roads, and other critical infrastructure. He emphasised the urgent need for a proper assessment of the damage and the initiation of immediate relief measures.
“The situation in Diglipur is dire,” Mr. Jolly wrote. “Villagers’ homes are inundated with rainwater, necessitating immediate evacuation to safer shelters and provision of essential supplies such as food and other necessities. Additionally, protective measures must be taken for the cattle.”
To ensure a thorough assessment of the damages, Mr. Jolly proposed a joint inspection by teams from the Revenue Department, Agriculture Department, Fisheries Department, and Animal Husbandry Department. He stressed that after the completion of relief and rescue operations, it is crucial that the victims receive adequate compensation without delay.
Mr. Jolly’s call for action highlights the severity of the flooding in Diglipur and the urgent need for swift and decisive intervention from the administration to alleviate the suffering of the affected residents.
