VSI Airport Launches New Electric Vehicle Charging Station to Promote Green Mobility

In a major move to advance sustainable transportation, VSI Airport on 12th August 2025, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station within its premises. The facility was officially opened in the presence of Airport Director Mr. Devender Yadav and other senior airport officials.

Strategically located to serve passengers, airport staff, and the general public, the new EV charging station aims to support eco-friendly transportation and reduce carbon emissions in the region. Equipped with modern fast-charging capabilities, the station can charge an electric vehicle from empty to full in approximately one hour under ideal conditions and features a seamless payment gateway for user convenience.

Addressing the gathering, Airport Director Mr. Devender Yadav said, “This initiative reflects our commitment to sustainability and innovation. As the demand for electric vehicles grows, it is vital that we provide the infrastructure needed to support this transformation. We are proud to take this step forward at VSI Airport.”

The facility forms part of a broader effort to promote electric mobility across Sri Vijaya Puram and enhance convenience for EV users traveling to and from the airport. With minimal downtime and efficient services, the charging station is expected to encourage greater adoption of electric vehicles in the area, reinforcing VSI Airport’s position as a progressive and environmentally conscious transport hub.
