Under Jal Jeevan Mission, Water Testing Labs have been established at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. According to the data available in Water Quality Management Information System, altogether 11 labs are available in Andaman and Nicobar Islands where the public can submit their water samples and get them tested for various parameters.
To submit a sample one will have to register on JJM-WQMIS portal and put in the request to test the water sample. The sample will have to be physically submitted to the lab. The test report will be generated online and will be made available on the portal.

Nominal prices for testing public and commercial water samples are listed on JJM-WQMIS. The users have the choice of choosing the parameters against which the water samples are to be tested.
At present, the price for testing public and commercial samples are the same. Following is the listed price for testing water samples against different parameters:
Temperature – ₹1/-
Colour – ₹1/-
Turbidity – ₹5/-
pH – ₹1/-
TDS – ₹1/-
Total Alkalinity (as Calcium Carbonate) – ₹20/-
Chloride (as Cl) – ₹50/-
Fluoride (as F) – ₹50/-
Ammonia (as Total Ammonia -N) – ₹50/-
Nitrate (an NO3) – ₹50/-
Sulphate (as SO4) – ₹50/-
Total Hardness (As CaCO3) – ₹20/-
Free residual Chlorine – ₹1/-
If one chooses to test the water sample against all the parameters it will cost them Rs. 300/-.
The public can make use of the labs established under Jal Jeevan Mission to get the water samples tested from different sources near them.
