Residents in the area served by the Garacharma Water Treatment Plant are likely to face reduced water supply over the next two days due to sudden repair work on the newly installed 375 HP diesel pump.
The delay in transportation of the repaired fuel pump from Kolkata has further affected the restoration of normal supply, particularly during power cuts. To manage the situation, authorities have planned to supply water at 30% curtailment, meaning water will be available every third day until September 29, 2025.
Officials of the Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council have been advised to schedule supply accordingly in their respective areas. In addition, water tanker services will be available from the Lamba Line Treatment Plant.
The public has been urged to conserve water during this period and to utilize rainwater for non-domestic purposes. Authorities have expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and appealed for cooperation from residents.
