Weather Alert Issued for Andaman and Nicobar Islands

A weather alert has been issued for Andaman and Nicobar Islands, forecasting strong surface winds and heavy rainfall over the coming days.

Wind Advisory:

Strong surface winds ranging from 30-40 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 50 km/h, are expected to impact the region on May 29. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions.

Rainfall Forecast:

Heavy rain, with accumulations between 7-11 cm, is predicted for the islands on May 31 and June 1.

Fishermen Warning:

Squally weather conditions with strong surface winds of 30-40 km/h, gusting up to 50 km/h, are very likely along and off the Andaman and Nicobar coast. Sea conditions are anticipated to be very rough to very high. Fishermen are strongly advised not to venture into the sea until the morning of May 30, 2024, or until further notice.
