A week-long chess training programme is being organised by the Education Department for students of the Campbell Bay Zone. The training commenced on 18th September 2025, at the Community Hall of Gram Panchayat, Campbell Bay.
Dr. Keshav Narendra Singh, Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay, inaugurated the programme as the chief guest and made the ceremonial first move to officially mark its beginning.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Singh expressed his gratitude to the Director of Education for facilitating such an initiative in one of the remotest area and encouraged students to fully utilise the opportunity. Around 100 students from various schools in the zone are participating in the programme, which aims to nurture young talent and promote chess at the grassroots level. The training is expected to provide a strong foundation for budding players and spark greater interest in chess among schoolchildren in Campbell Bay.
