A five-day capacity-building workshop focused on preparing academic tools and competency-based sample question papers for the Foundational Learning Study (FLS) 2026 commenced on 5th December 2025, at the State Institute of Education (SIE).
The workshop is part of the preparatory roadmap for the upcoming national study and is aimed at developing high-quality assessment instruments in Literacy and Numeracy. The tools being designed will be used to measure foundational learning outcomes more accurately and strengthen the assessment framework for FLS 2026.
Earlier in the day, the Principal of SIE interacted with the participating tool-setters and acknowledged their efforts. She highlighted the importance of precision, clarity, and academic rigour in the development process, noting that these elements are essential for producing reliable competency-based assessment items.
The workshop will continue until December 9, bringing together subject experts and educators to collaboratively refine assessment methodologies.
