To mark the celebrations of 75th Independence Day, an award function was organised on 13th August 2021 by Lok Janshakti Party (Youth wing), Andaman and Nicobar Islands under the leadership of Mr. Abhi Bhusan Ghosh, State President, YLJP to recognise the efforts of the sanitary workers of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Awards were presented to the sanitary workers who have worked tirelessly and selflessly since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sanitary workers have played a major role in bringing the pandemic under control. It was because of these sanitary workers that regular cleaning, waste collection and disposal could be done inspite of the hardships of the lockdown. While the Islanders kept themselves locked in their homes fearing the spread of the virus, these sanitary workers helped keep the Islands clean.
“This award by the Youth Wing of LJP, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has motivated us to continue the work that we are doing. It is great to see that now awards are also being given to the poor sanitary workers” said a recipient of the award.
The Youth Wing of Lok Jansakthi Party organised the award function for Sanitary Workers and recognised their contribution to the society which in itself is an achievement.
20 Sanitary Workers were recognised and awarded in the function organised by the YLJP, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
