Zonal Agriculture Office Conducts Two-Day Training on Scientific Beekeeping at Rangat

The Zonal Agriculture Office, Rangat, recently organized a two-day training programme on Scientific Beekeeping at the Gram Panchayat Hall, Dashrathpur, under the MIDH scheme in association with the National Bee Board, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. The programme aimed at enhancing farmers’ knowledge on scientific apiculture to boost crop productivity, improve nutrition, and support rural income through pollination-based agriculture.

Inaugurating the event, Mr. Ajit Dakua, Chairman, PACS Rangat, highlighted the growing importance of beekeeping and stressed the need to involve youth in apiculture for strengthening the farming community. Mr. Lankeshwar, PRI member, Dashrathpur, attended as the guest of honour.

Ms. Shirly Thomas, Assistant Director (Agriculture), Rangat, briefed participants on the scope, benefits, and agricultural significance of beekeeping.

On the second day, participants visited a coconut plantation at Chitrakut, Rangat, for a practical demonstration. Agriculture Field Assistant Mr. C. Santosh Kumar conducted hands-on training on scientific honeybee rearing, new colony establishment, and hive maintenance. (Story Based on PR)
