A vibrant Zonal Level Dance Competition was held recently in Car Nicobar under the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’, aimed at promoting gender equality and empowering the girl child. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from young girls, who showcased their talent and creativity in a series of impressive performances.
The occasion was graced by the Deputy Commissioner of Nicobar District, Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, who attended as the chief guest. In her address, Ms. Kumari applauded the initiative and emphasized the significance of education, gender equality, and opportunities for girls. She highlighted how events like these play a pivotal role in nurturing confidence and providing a platform to bring the talents of young girls to the forefront.
Mrs. Sunita Kumari, CDPO of Nicobar, welcomed the gathering and provided an overview of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ Initiative. She underscored the scheme’s importance in empowering girls and addressing gender disparities by promoting education and holistic development for young girls.
The event also saw remarks from Mr. Derick Jacob, the First Captain of Kinyuka village, Car Nicobar, who spoke about the importance of supporting initiatives that uplift and empower girls, encouraging the community to actively participate in such transformative programs.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners of the dance competition were awarded for their exceptional performances. The event not only celebrated the artistic talents of the participants but also served as an important reminder of the need to support gender equality, making a lasting impact on the community while spreading the vital message of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative.
