ZPSA Adhyaksh Sanjay Kumar Singh Inaugurates Rural Development Projects and Vegetable Market in Ferrargunj

In a bid to enhance rural infrastructure and bolster local economies, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, the Adhyaksh of Zilla Parishad South Andaman (ZPSA), spearheaded the inauguration of two crucial rural road projects and a renovated vegetable market in Ferrargunj.

The event, held on March 8, 2024, saw Mr. Singh laying the foundation stone for the repair and maintenance of the rural road stretching from Muthuswamy Pan shop to New Bimblitan main road at Bimblitan 02 & 04 under Sippighat Panchayat. Additionally, he inaugurated the construction of a blacktop road from ATR to the paddy land culvert at Caddlegunj, Ward No. 02, showcasing the commitment of ZPSA towards enhancing connectivity and infrastructure in rural areas.

Accompanied by Mr. Boominathan, the Up-Adhyaksh of ZPSA, and other dignitaries including Ms. Sarika Devi and Mr. Abdul Bashir, as well as various Zilla Parishad Members (ZPMs) and Panchayat Samiti Members (PSMs), Mr. Singh also unveiled the renovated Vegetable Market in Ferrargunj. This project, recently handed over by the Agriculture department to ZPSA, has been refurbished and is set to be auctioned to local vegetable vendors, thereby providing a vital platform for economic activity in the region.

The combined cost of the rural road projects amounts to Rs. 87.00 lakh, underlining the significant investment being made to improve transportation infrastructure in rural South Andaman. The inauguration ceremony witnessed widespread appreciation from the general public and members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), who expressed gratitude towards Mr. Singh and ZPSA for their proactive approach towards rural development.
