Chief Secretary Flags Off ‘Island Rumble Ride’

In a grand ceremony held at Flag Point, the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar (A&N) Administration, Mr. Keshav Chandra, IAS, officially flagged off the highly anticipated ‘Island Rumble Ride.’ The event, which aspires to secure a spot in the *World Book of Records*, promises to be a significant milestone for motorcycling enthusiasts across the globe. 

Present at the flag-off were key dignitaries including the Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman, Mr. Arjun Sharma, IAS, and the Director of Information, Publicity & Tourism (IP&T), Mr. Azharuddin Zahiruddin Quazi, IAS. Members of the Hoteliers Association and the Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ACCI) were also in attendance.

The Island Rumble Ride, organized by Venus Motorcycle Tours, has drawn participation from 43 riders from across India, each revved up for an unforgettable motorcycling journey through the breathtaking landscapes of the Andaman Islands. This event not only offers adventure but also highlights the immense tourism potential of the islands, known for their tranquil beauty and rich biodiversity.

In his address, Mr. Chandra extended a warm welcome to all the riders, particularly those from Chennai and other parts of India. He emphasized the significance of the event in showcasing the stunning natural beauty of the A&N Islands, which have become a top destination for tourists worldwide. “The serenity and natural charm of the islands attract visitors from around the globe,” he remarked, adding that participants would experience the mesmerizing beaches and diverse flora and fauna that make Andaman unique.

Mr. Chandra also expressed his appreciation for the bikers’ enthusiasm, especially their decision to ride Harley-Davidson motorcycles through the scenic routes of the islands. He noted that events of such magnitude will put the A&N Islands on the global tourism map. “I hope that this event will continue to grow with even larger participation next year,” he said, adding that the administration would provide full support to ensure the bikers have an enjoyable experience and inspire others to visit.

The Island Rumble Ride, backed by Harley-Davidson’s Marina Chapter (Chennai) and Banjara Chapter (Hyderabad), has earned the distinction of being the largest Harley-Davidson gathering in Sri Vijaya Puram. During their stay, the riders will explore the island’s iconic landscapes, blending their passion for motorcycling with the region’s rich culture and natural splendor.

Organized by Venus Motorcycle Tours, the event underscores the company’s legacy of crafting exhilarating motorcycle journeys across global destinations, including Scotland, Portugal, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Alps. Founded by Ajith Kumar, Venus Motorcycle Tours has become synonymous with scenic routes and immersive cultural experiences, bringing together riders from diverse backgrounds for unforgettable adventures.

The event’s success is also credited to the support from local partners. The Hoteliers Association of A&N Islands served as the hospitality partner, ensuring the participants enjoyed a taste of local culture and comfort during their stay. TCI Seaways, the logistics partner, played a crucial role in the smooth transportation of bikes and the equipment.

As the riders set off on their journey, the Chief Secretary extended his best wishes for a safe and exhilarating adventure through the Andaman Islands. With eyes on the World Book of Records, the Island Rumble Ride is poised to become a defining moment for motorcycling enthusiasts and a landmark event in promoting the A&N Islands as a premier global tourist destination.
