In a unique move to promote voter awareness and participation in the upcoming elections, election awareness stickers have been affixed to LPG refill cylinders. The stickers carry the theme for the 2024 elections, ‘Chunav Ka Parv Desh Ka Garv’ (Election Celebration, Pride of the Nation), aiming to reach every household and shop.
The initiative, spearheaded by the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) team of the Office of the Returning Officer, underscores the importance of active civic engagement in the electoral process.
The chosen theme, along with the toll-free number 1950, serves as a catalyst for election-related activities, focusing on educating voters about the significance of their vote, fostering informed decision-making, and encouraging robust participation in the democratic process.
A press release from the Nodal Officer (SVEEP) highlighted the initiative’s symbolic representation of the crucial role of elections and the pride associated with exercising one’s right to vote in the world’s largest democracy.
As the country gears up for the electoral season, the initiative stands as a reminder of the collective responsibility to uphold democratic values and strengthen the foundation of the nation through active participation in the electoral process.
