Police Station Hutbay Seizes 1.031 Kg Crystalline Methamphetamine

In a significant breakthrough in the fight against narcotics, the team at Police Station Hutbay has intercepted and confiscated 1.031 kilograms of crystalline methamphetamine. This operation underscores the relentless efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating the proliferation of illicit drugs.

The operation unfolded on April 9th, 2024, following actionable intelligence received from an undisclosed source. The tip-off suggested the presence of crystalline methamphetamine concealed near Nallah Mundi Jungle, Little Andaman. Responding swiftly to the information, a team led by Sub-Inspector Somen Kr. Haldar, the Station House Officer of PS Hut Bay, along with Sub-Inspector Regan Isaac and constables Arvind Kerketta, Victor Dung Dung, Anbu Kumar, and Narayan Mondal, was assembled.

Upon reaching the designated area, an extensive search operation was conducted. Their efforts bore fruit when a suspicious packet was discovered concealed amidst the bushes. Subsequent testing confirmed the contents to be crystalline methamphetamine, weighing 1.031 kilograms. The packet was securely sealed following all requisite protocols at the scene.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of Mr. Manasvi Vashistha, DANIPS, SDPO Swaraj Dweep, and overseen by Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
