Deputy Commissioner (North & Middle Andaman), Mr. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, accompanied by Mr. Atul Soni, Assistant Commissioner (MA) Rangat, and Tehsildar Rangat, undertook a comprehensive visit to various Gram Panchayats in Rangat Tehsil. The objective of the visit was to review ongoing developmental projects related to water, electricity, roads, and other public grievances.
A series of meetings were held under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), Heads of Departments (HoDs), Heads of Offices (HoOs) of line departments, NHIDCL officials, and the general public at Dasarathpur, Rampur, Sabari, Bakultala, Kaushalyanagar, Kadamtala, Uttara, Sundargarh, and Nilambur Panchayats. These meetings aimed to address and resolve the grievances of the community effectively.
During the visit, Mr. Meena engaged in in-depth discussions with the PRIs and HoDs from various departments, addressing their concerns. A significant issue brought to attention was the inconsistent electric supply in these areas, with disruptions often caused by trees and branches damaging power lines. The Deputy Commissioner investigated these disturbances and directed the concerned department to promptly identify and resolve the issues with the assistance of other relevant departments.
In efforts to make Rangat Tehsil self-sufficient in water, Mr. Meena reviewed the ongoing projects undertaken by the APWD and PRIs. Additionally, he assessed the progress of the NH-4 projects alongside NHIDCL officials, urging them to expedite the ongoing work.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the importance of promptly tracking and resolving issues raised by the PRIs and the general public. He assured all departments of his support in mitigating any challenges encountered.
Furthermore, Mr. Meena conducted an on-site inspection of the VKV ZP School in Kadamtala to assess issues related to landslides. He directed the concerned officials to prepare a report for resolving this matter urgently.
This visit underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring the development and well-being of the communities in Rangat Tehsil. Mr. Meena’s proactive approach and directives are expected to accelerate the resolution of public grievances and the completion of key developmental projects in the region.
