Gambling Den Raided by Aberdeen Police, Seven Apprehended and Rs. 79,570 Seized

In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, the Aberdeen Police successfully busted a gambling den at RGT Road, apprehending seven individuals and seizing Rs. 79,570/- in cash. The raid was conducted by a team from Police Station Aberdeen, led by Inspector Vishal Ram, Station House Officer, and comprising of Sub Inspector Tejeshwar Rao, Head Constable Mustafa, and Constables Vijay Kumar Yadav, Sanjay Kerketta, T.K. Bhattacharya, and Manindro Das.

The police team conducted a surprise raid on the residence of Ritesh Kumar, a resident of RGT Road, and uncovered the illegal gambling operation. A total of Rs. 79,570 was seized from the individuals involved. Those apprehended during the operation have been charged under Sections 5 and 7 of the Andaman and Nicobar Gambling Regulation, 1951.

The raid was conducted under the overall supervision of Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.

The South Andaman District Police have reiterated their commitment to curbing illegal activities and urged the public to come forward with information regarding unlawful practices. Citizens can share information by contacting the police through emergency numbers, including 112, and at the district control room numbers. The identity of informants will be kept confidential to ensure their safety and encourage cooperation in building a safer, drug-free society.
