As part of the 54th National Safety Week celebrations, the Department of Labour, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, organized an awareness program on ‘Safety and Well-Being: Crucial for Viksit Bharat’ at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Dollygunj, on 7th March 2025.
Dr. P.V.N. Sarma, Principal of Andaman Law College, graced the event as the chief guest and emphasized the importance of adhering to safety protocols to prevent workplace accidents. He highlighted that National Safety Week, observed annually from March 4 to 10, plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of industrial safety and well-being.
During the program, the Assistant Labour Commissioner and Inspector of Factories delivered a presentation on essential workplace safety measures. Additionally, the Principal of ITI Dollygunj addressed the gathering, stressing the significance of compliance with safety norms to ensure a secure working environment.
The event witnessed the participation of 150 trainees from ITI Dollygunj. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the Chief Inspector of Factories and Labour Commissioner.
