In a significant move to enhance practical exposure for law students, Andaman Law College (ALC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) under its internship initiative titled ‘Pradeepthi – Igniting Passion for Aviation’.
The MoU, which came into immediate effect and is valid for five years, was signed by Dr. Nagendra Sarma, Principal of Andaman Law College, and Mr. Girish Kumar, General Manager (HR), AAI, New Delhi.
As part of the collaboration, six final-year B.A.LL.B. students from ALC completed a 15-day internship at Veer Savarkar International Airport on August 6, 2025. The students—Albira Yasin, Aneez Akbar, Sumaan Quamar, Akshat Wadhwa, B. Swati, and Manish Priya—formed the first batch from the college to participate in the programme. Their internship was conducted under the guidance of Airport Director Mr. Devender Yadav and HoD (HR) Mr. Md. Samtullah Ansari.
A second batch of students—Haseeba Zoharai Khan, Mamtha K, Pooja Cheetri, and Satyajit Halder—has also been selected to undergo internships in the coming weeks.
The initiative has been facilitated by Secretary (Education) Mr. L. Kumar and Director (Higher Education) Mr. Vikram Singh. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. PVN Sarma, Principal of Andaman Law College, emphasized that internships are now mandatory as per Bar Council of India (BCI) guidelines and will be implemented from the current academic year onwards.
