In a step towards ensuring orderly urban management and enhancing public convenience, the Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council (SVPMC) has developed a dedicated open market space at Junglighat for street vendors who traditionally operate in the area on Sundays.

According to SVPMC, all street vendors have been encouraged to utilise the newly designated vending space, which has been planned to function as an organised open market. The initiative aims to provide a safe, accessible, and well-regulated environment for vendors as well as the general public.

The Council stated that the development of the market space is intended to streamline vending activities while ensuring smooth traffic flow and unobstructed pedestrian movement in and around Junglighat.

SVPMC has invited all concerned vendors to make full use of the facility every Sunday starting from March 22, 2026, and to cooperate in establishing a well-managed and vibrant marketplace for the benefit of the community.

The general public has also been urged to visit the designated market area and extend their support in making the initiative a success.
