21 Deaths Recorded till 13th May Due to Second Wave of COVID-19

21 deaths have been recorded in the Islands due to the second wave of COVID-19 till 13th May 2021. Over all 83 deaths have been recorded in the Islands due to COVID-19 as per the official health bulletin. 

40 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in the Islands recently and there are 214 active cases of COVID-19 in the Islands now. 6510 cases of COVID-19 have been detected in the Islands so far and 6213 people have also been cured.

Currently Andaman and Nicobar Islands has a total of 6376 isolation beds out of which 214 have been occupied as per health bulletin sent to media on 13th May 2021. There are 5583 isolation beds available in South Andaman District out of which 5379 are vacant. In Nicobar District all 507 available isolation beds are vacant. In North and Middle Andaman District 276 out of 286 available isolation beds are vacant.

The test positivity rate of Andaman and Nicobar Islands currently stands at 1.72%. A total of 378462 samples of COVID-19 have been tested so far in the Islands. 

A large number of passengers intending to travel from South Andaman to other districts are being tested positive for COVID-19.
