ABVP Organizes Career Guidance Program for Students in Sri Vijaya Puram

In an effort to guide students towards informed career choices, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organized a comprehensive Career Guidance Program at the Tagore College of Education Auditorium, Sri Vijaya Puram. The event witnessed active participation from around 160 students.

The program was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Anan Jaiswal, Consultant Pathologist at Health 4U Multi-Specialty Clinic, and Guest of Honour Mr. Rakesh Pal Govind, Senior Advocate and Secretary, Bar Council of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Dr. Jaiswal appreciated ABVP’s initiative and discussed various career opportunities available to students in the medical and allied health sciences after Class 10 and 12. Mr. Rakesh Pal Govind emphasized the importance of personality development, discipline, and consistency while preparing for professional courses, especially in law.

The expert session featured insightful talks by professionals from various fields. Speakers included:

– Mr. Vikas Lal Patel, Chartered Accountant – Spoke about career prospects in commerce.

– Mr. C.H. Venkatesh, Principal, ITI – Addressed opportunities in vocational education.

  • Mr. Ajitabh Kumar, Sub-Inspector, A&N Police – Discussed careers in the police and uniformed services.
  • Mr. N. Damodaran, MD, Future Corridor – Encouraged self-employment and entrepreneurship.
  • Dr. Binitendra Nath Mongal, Asst. Professor of Chemistry, JNRM – Shed light on careers in pure sciences and research.

All speakers encouraged students to align their career choices with their strengths, interests, available resources, and time.

Additional addresses were delivered by Mr. O.T. Vishak, Assistant Labour Commissioner, and Dr. P.V.N. Sarma, Principal, Andaman Law College, who also motivated students to pursue their goals with clarity and commitment.

Dr. Kandimuthu, ABVP Vibhag Pramukh, highlighted the long-standing mission of ABVP in empowering students and contributing to nation-building since its inception in 1948. Earlier, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Tiwari, ABVP Sri Vijaya Puram City Vice-President, welcomed the guests and introduced the various student-focused activities conducted by ABVP throughout the year.

Mr. Satyajit Halder, City Secretary, briefed the attendees about the programs planned for the academic session 2025–26. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. V. Saran Shiva, Media Convener and Program Coordinator. The entire program was moderated by Kunal Bain, ABVP City Joint Secretary.
